GROUPS & CLUBS - LOCAL HISTORY GROUP

Did you know that Roman remains and a Saxon Spear were found in Bradley Stoke before the housing development began? - or that one of Bradley Stoke’s first churches, Holy Trinity, first operated from a porta-cabin before the present church was built?

In recognition of Bradley Stoke’s 20th Anniversary, a Local History group was established at the beginning of 2007. Organiser Corrina Wood hopes to secure funding from The National Lottery’s Heritage Fund and a number of residents - both past and present - have joined her in forming the new group.

Do YOU have any interesting memories of Bradley Stoke when it was first developed? Do you have any old photos of the area that you could share?

Please call Corrina on (01454) 867076. New members are always welcome.
