2021 Summer Bee Trail Challenge

Stokes artist Susan Hartry is one of 16 Artists, invited by South Gloucestershire Council, to decorate 1.5m fibreglass Bees ready for a Summer Bee Trail Challenge.

As part of an initiative to get visitors back to our High Streets, two Bees have been sited at each of eight High Streets – Filton, Thornbury, Yate, Downend, Chipping Sodbury, Hanham, Staple Hill and Kingswood, the Challenge being to ‘collect’ all 16.

Running until 18th September it’s a great thing to do over the course of the school holidays and all you have to do to collect the Bees is take a selfie with them, then enter the photos for a chance to win a weekly prize draw of £150 vouchers for each High Street to spend in participating Retailers. For Details and to download a Free Bee Trail Map, visit the SGC website at www.southglos.gov.uk/shopsouthglos

Susan (pictured right with Polly Bee) formerly ran the Stokes Art Group in Bradley Stoke, and said to take part in this project was a huge privilege and great fun, and can’t wait to visit ‘POLLY BEE’, whose message is to Pollinate our High Streets, sited at Fountain Square, Broad Street, Staple Hill BS16 5LN.  To find out how Polly Bee developed from blank ‘canvas’ to a Trail Bee, visit Susan’s FbPage at https://www.facebook.com/SusanHartryArt

So… let’s all Buzz to the Shops and Pollinate our High Streets … !
