25th anniversary celebrations for St Michael’s Church Pre-School & Nursery

St Michaels 225 years of serving the Stoke Gifford community with quality childcare was the reason for a weekend of celebrations at St Michael s Church Pre-School & Nursery over the weekend of the 17th&18th May.     Over 400 people attended the celebrations, including some of the original ‘children now into their mid-20 s.

A wonderful story-board was set up to mark the different phases of the ‘Playgroup-to-Pre-School-to-Pre-School&Nursery journey over the last 25 years.   Dozens of past children and staff sent in their memories, current whereabouts and prayers on cut-out Hands, Feet and Hearts.    Current families and friends joined in the fun at a Teddy Bears picnic with games and activities, whilst enjoying home-made cakes and refreshments throughout the day.

Revd Julie Bradley, Chair of the Pre-School & Nursery paid special tribute to Mandy Love and Vanessa St Michaels 1Rennolds, who have been key staff and vision holders for the Pre-School & Nursery over the years.       The vision of St Michael s Church is ‘Living to make a difference by being a ‘Christian heart at the centre of the community .   During the last 25 years, it is estimated that the Pre-School & Nursery has made a positive difference in the lives of over 1,200 children in the local community.   The Heart of the Community project, the latest initiative launched by the church, will enable that positive difference to cascade down through future generations.
