3-0 Loss for BSTFC B Team Against Dodington this weekend
November 26th, 2012
This weekend saw only one BSTFC game survive Saturday’s wet weather – grass pitches were off but the 3G rubber crumb pitch at the Imperial Ground was ready to rumble.
This was always going to be a tough one for the BSTFC B Team, a match between 2 teams at either ends of the league table. Dodington flying high and BSTFC currently rooted at the bottom after having points deducted for a clerical error. However the team set about it with determination and were matching Dodington on the super slick pitch with their fast passing, keeping it on the deck which has been drummed into the team from all the coaches. Chances were few and far between with both sides limited to 2 chances each in the first half. Then, with just 2 minutes left on the clock before half time, a Dodington striker managed to get a shot away which just alluded Brendan in goal. Disappointingly at half time the team were down 1-0.
Manager Steve Kerton gave a lot of praise at half time which was well deserved as both teams were equally matched and there was still hope to get something out of the game. With the second half started, the team pressed on and again chances were there but not converted, with one shot hitting the post and another being saved on the line…it was not the B team’s day and two breakaway goals saw Doddington win the match 3-0.
