Every little girl dreams of having long princess hair like Rapunzel and eight year old Naoisa Hodges from Bradley Stoke is no exception.

But Naoisa is no ordinary 8 year old: after seeing a programme on TV about children with illnesses which left them with no hair, Naoisa decided that she wanted to help them by donating her own hair to the “Little Princess Trust ” so they could use it to make another child a wig.

Naoisa s mum says “Anyone that knows Naoisa, knows her hair means the world to her. When she asked this, we were so proud of her. It s so her, wanting to help others. She has a big heart. I did ask her though to wait until she had made her 1st holy communion at the end of September – so she picked the week after!

When people heard about Naoisa s plans, they were not surprised with her generosity and thinking of others. When her teacher Miss Molloy heard about what she is going to do, she said ”All of us here at St Mary s Catholic Primary are so proud of Naoisa and are behind her 100%.Naoisa is such a kind and caring little girl. She always notices if others are feeling down and  will try to help or cheer them up. It s typical of her to want to help others by wanting to take on this huge challenge. ”

Naoisa has set up a just giving account to help her raise money and has asked her parish priest Fr.Eugune of Holy Family Catholic Church if she could also hold a cake sale in order to raise more money for the trust.

Naoisa has booked her hair cut for the 3rd October.   If you feel able to donate anything, however little, to support this little girl with a big heart, then you can do so via her justgiving page –
