A-Mazing Reading Challenge Success Celebrated

Children from all over Bristol celebrated the success of this year s Summer Reading Challenge at a prize-giving ceremony this week.

Twenty five children gathered at the Children s Library at Bristol s Central Library to receive a special prize from the Lord Mayor, Councillor Alastair Watson.

The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual event run by the charity The Reading Agency and local libraries, which encourages children to read several library books during the summer holidays.

This year s challenge, Mythical Maze, invited children to discover more about myths and legends from all over the world.

Over 6000 children took part in the challenge by each reading six library books and being involved in lots of exciting Mythical Maze events at various Bristol Libraries over the summer.
