Amazing Henry completes all Beaver Badges at 1st Bradley Stoke Scouts

All of our young people are amazing but some do seem to go that extra mile.

One is Henry who – as a Beaver – completed all of the badges he was eligible for over a two year period and would have completed it earlier if it hadn’t been for the pandemic. Special thanks to our water activity unit – the Water Rats – who organised a sailing session and ensured Henry completed all of the requirements of his final badge (sailing!).

His badge haul included six challenge badges, 26 activity badges – from animal friend to sports – and 11 staged activity badges (including six hikes) and his Chief Scouts Bronze Award, which is the highest award available in Scouting for a Beaver.

In addition, he used his journey to completing the badges to raise £800 for the Shelter homelessness charity. The Chief Scout – Bear Grylls – even got to hear of this and Henry received a personalised congratulatory audio message from him as well as a golden ticket for a day out with his family at The Bear Grylls Adventure.

Well done Henry, a massive achievement and you are a role model to other Beaver Scouts! Good luck in your new Cubs section, no doubt you will be just as epic there!

Delivering a programme to support young people like Henry to achieve their potential requires committed leaders. If you are looking for a new challenge, want to join the adventure and give opportunities to more young people (and adult volunteers!) please visit our website
