Annual Care Homes Concert Returns to Bristol Beacon with Aurora Orchestra

The much-loved annual Care Homes Concert returns to Bristol Beacon on Tuesday, 16 June 2026 (2–3pm), bringing a live orchestral experience to care home residents across the region.

Featuring a memorised performance of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony by the renowned Aurora Orchestra, the concert is designed specifically for care home communities. It offers residents a rare opportunity to experience high-quality live music in an inspiring and accessible setting.

Music plays a vital role in supporting well-being, particularly in care settings. From evoking memories to lifting mood and encouraging connection, live performance can offer meaningful emotional and sensory engagement. The annual Care Homes Concert is created with this in mind – providing a moment of joy, reflection, and shared experience for residents, carers, and families alike.

Created in collaboration with Aurora Orchestra and in partnership with Bristol Care Homes, this performance is part of Bristol Beacon’s ongoing work to improve access to live music and wellbeing experiences for older people. This fourth Care Homes Concert sits within Bristol Beacon’s Creative Health & Wellbeing programme, which also includes projects such as All Together Now, Our Music Club and Pulse, initiatives designed to tackle loneliness and improve quality of life through the arts.

Geoff Crocker, Chair of Bristol Care Homes said ‘’We are proud to support this concert, which brings the joy of live music directly to all our residents. Aurora’s unique gift of playing from memory allows the orchestra to mix in with the audience in a totally immersive concert, which maximises engagement, particularly for those of our residents living with dementia. We are glad to share the concert with all other care providers in the city. Opportunities like this can make a real difference to wellbeing, creating moments of connection, enjoyment and shared experience for people in our care and their families, welcoming them into the heart of our city’’.

Simon Wales, Chief Executive of Bristol Beacon said:  ‘’We’re delighted to host the annual Care Homes Concert for its fourth year. This event is all about creating meaningful, shared experiences through the power of live music, and seeing residents, carers, families and friends come together to enjoy live orchestral music is moving. Music has a unique ability to bring people together, spark memories and lift spirits, and we’re proud to work alongside our partners to ensure that these special opportunities remain accessible to elders in the Bristol community.”

This year, a limited number of tickets will be available to the public, offering audiences the opportunity to be part of a welcoming and inclusive event centred on care home communities.

Tickets will be available at £6, with booking exclusively via the Bristol Beacon website.

The concert is supported by Bristol Care Homes, who are proud to help make this initiative possible and extend its reach to as many residents as possible across the region, with additional support from Christie & Co.
