Annual Rotary Wye Run 2018April 26th, 2018
The success and popularity of the last 15 Classic Car Runs organised by the Rotary Club of Chepstow & District has led to this event becoming a welcome addition to the calendar for classic car enthusiasts. The Wye Run is a non-competitive event for classic and interesting cars and the people who enjoy using them. The aim of the organizers is to provide a memorable and leisurely drive through our beautiful countryside, to provide onlookers with the spectacle of interesting cars, and to raise money for worthwhile charities supported by the Rotary Club of Chepstow & District
This year the Run will set off from Chepstow Garden Centre from 9am on Saturday 5th May. The route has been carefully selected, keeping to lesser-used scenic roads through the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons. Don’t worry, those dreadful rains will surely be well behind us by the beginning of May! Bring your own lunch or picnic and stop to enjoy it where you please along the route. If you choose to dine out there are a variety of eating places along the way.
Entry this year will be limited to some 80 cars. The entry fee is just £25 for each car for which drivers will receive full route instructions, a Monte Carlo style “Rally Plaque” and an Finisher Certificate and colour photograph. Those wishing to take part in this event on Saturday 05 May are now invited to reserve their place. The Entry Application Form and details are at the Chepstow Rotary web site: http://www.chepstowrotary.org.uk/. Entrants should arrive at Chepstow Garden Centre before 0830am for a 9.00am start but breakfast will be available at the Garden Centre that will open early specially for us.
