Arena Arts Festival Success
May 4th, 2011
Congratulations to the volunteers from the Arena Arts Festival group, who organised a fabulous free Arts Festival at Abbeywood Community School on Saturday 30th April.
Supported by Matters Magazines and with financial assistance from South Gloucestershire Council, Bradley Stoke Town Council and Stoke Gifford Parish Council, the event proved popular with children and adults alike. Many of the workshops proved extremely popular and were fully booked. Visitors enjoyed dance and drama sessions, performances and workshops in orchestra and colourguard as well as street dance and guitar. A Rock ‘n’ Roll workshop gave participants an understanding of the history of Rock and and puppet workshop showed even the youngest children how realistic puppets can be made from scrap materials. The whole event, which ran from 10am to 4pm, provided a great opportunity for adults and children to sample something new, and to gain a greater appreciation of different forms of the Performing Arts.
We look forward to seeing this event repeated next year and we will once again be happy to give our support!
