BBC To Join Community Royal Wedding ‘Street’ Party

BBC Radio Bristol have announced that they will be joining the Bradley Stoke Town Council/Friends of Jubilee Green Celebration of the Royal Wedding on Friday 29th April.

With free entry to the event, visitors will be able to watch the ceremony on a huge outdoor 14′ x 10′ big screen TV. There will also be:
Community and commercial stalls
Children’s entertainment
Beer tent and food retailers
Free ‘wedding reception’ disco
2 Free puppet shows
Prince and Princess fancy dress competition with prizes

Local resident and BBC Weatherman Ian Fergusson will be opening the event and Ali Vowels from BBC Radio Bristol will be broadcasting her show live from the event from 10am to 2pm. Everyone is welcome to go along and meet the BBC Team.

Avon fire brigade will be brining two tenders and will be promoting fire safety. Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club will be running a tuck shop and Aztec Hotel and Spa – who are long term supporters of the Friends of Jubilee Green – will be bringing a ‘Wedding Cake’ for the community to enjoy. Starbucks will also be there serving teas and coffees.

Programme of Events for the day:
10am: The event opens with the stalls, children’s entertainment and the BBC begin their live broadcast.
10.15am: Free puppet show “Mavis and the Green Giant”
10.20am: Official Opening of the event by Ian Fergusson
11am: Royal Wedding is shown on the TV
12 noon: Beer tent opens
12.15pm: Free puppet show “Susie Sparkle”
1pm: Judging of the Prince and Princess Competition
Free ‘wedding reception’ disco
Free taster sessions on Jubilee Green

This programme is weather dependent and could change closer to the time.

The event is planned to be outside on the football pitch and Jubilee Green. If the weather is poor it will be moved to the Jubilee Centre.
