Bradley Stoke Fox

foxThe RSPCA are aware of a small fox that frequents Bradley Stoke Tesco Extra.  The Fox is in poor condition and appears to have mange on its back end but it is still highly mobile when it wants to be.  It is being fed regularly by caring members of the public and the RSPCA have been told that treatment is being sought from ‘The Fox Project’. Its condition is being monitored and, if necessary, efforts will be made to catch it and take it away. On the occasions when the fox has been present when the RSPCA officers have arrived, it will allow them to get close but not close enough to be caught.  It seems to recognise the uniform!

As such, calls regarding this particular fox are given a low priority level.

While the fox does not look good to look at, due to the inherent problems associated with taking wild animals into captivity,  the RSPCA do not want to try and catch it yet when it stands a chance of improving in condition.

Please do not attempt to feed the fox by hand as this could potentially cause the fox to become overconfident with humans. An overconfident fox can become problematic and a potential risk to welfare.

If people are still concerned they can call 03001234999 or visit the RSPCA website.
