Bradley Stoke Matters meets local Tesco Community Champion

tesco 1Bradley Stoke Matters recently met with the local Tesco Community Champion, Dawn Richards, who acts as ambassador for Tesco within Bradley Stoke.

Dawn works full time to ensure that Tesco is a great neighbour and can bring genuine benefit to the local community. Working with the Store Manager and other shops in the region she helps to shape how Tesco can get involved in local community events, providing support where it is most needed and help keep customers and colleagues up to date with the most recent activity. Community Champions also support local charities, groups and not-for-profit organisations to carry out various charity and fundraising activities within their store or their local community, including donations and bag packing.

Dawn is also the store s Farm to Fork trail Guide which is part of the company s Eat Happy Project; a long term commitment to help 4-11year olds have a happy and healthier relationship with food. Tesco believe that if children understand where food comes from then they can make better decisions about what they put on their plates when they grow up. Whether it s a sneaky peak behind the scenes of a busy store to see how food is stored, getting hands on in the fruit and vegetable department, baking bread rolls or tasting various cheeses, Dawn ensures the visits from preschools, schools, community groups or individuals is beneficial and can tailor to specific needs or topics if required.   Alice Abraham, Services Team Manager, stated “We have had lots of positive feedback from our trails around how informative and interesting they have been. We would love to accommodate as many schools as possible so if you would like to book any dates or request any more information please do not hesitate to call. ”

Bespoke visits can also be arranged with local Scouts, Cubs & Beavers with an opportunity to earn a partner badge. Dawn can be contacted via customer services in store or email [email protected]. More information can also be found at www.tesco.com/eathappyproject
