Bradley Stoke Video Games VGM-a-thon

If you love video games, you can go along to the Willow Brook Centre on the 14th – 16th  December from 5pm and take part in the ‘VGM-a-thon 2012 – Bradley Stoke’s own 48-hour game making event of the century.

You can join the presenters of the VGM Awesome radio show on Bradley Stoke Radio and help to create a fully playable community video game in just 48 hours!

‘VGM-a-thon 2012 is an affiliated event with Bradley Stoke Radio and the Town Council designed to inspire, harvest and display the creative talent of the community from all ages and from all backgrounds.   Literally anyone can enter this event by submitting their ideas via www.facebook.com/vgmawesome OR [email protected] or by going along to the Willow Brook Centre at the weekend.

Ideas so far have included pets, local environments, original story lines, Samurais and even the Pope! The content submitted by the community can be as varied and as random as possible – this is part of the charm of the community video game.

Money raised by the event funds Bradley Stoke Radio s full-time FM license which has been granted by Ofcom.   Continued funds are necessary to action the license.   People can donate online via www.infiniteplayground.co.uk or visit us during the actual weekend and donate whatever change they have available into one of the collection buckets.

Matthew Walker, one of the presenters of VGM Awesome said: “We are very grateful to the Willow Brook Centre for supporting this community event.   We will be based opposite Tesco and look forward to meeting many video game enthusiasts over the weekend. ”
