Bristol Military Wives Choir Celebrate Their 1st Birthday
December 15th, 2014
2014 has been an incredibly successful and busy year for the Bristol Military Wives Choir. The choir has not only grown in size but has gone from strength to strength performing at many events throughout the Bristol and Southwest area including; Keep Calm and Party On, Weston-Super-Mare Christmas Lights Switch On and a forthcoming event at Highgrove House.
As a fitting tribute to their success, 2014 will conclude with a brand new series of The Choir . Four members of the Bristol Military Wives Choir successfully auditioned to take part in this fabulous experience, singing in the Royal Albert Hall in August.
Their very own Rachel Priest, Catherine O Neill, Shelly Fielder and Emellia White will all be singing in the series. This was a great privilege for them and is made even more remarkable considering the Bristol Military Wives Choir had only been established 6 weeks when the auditions took place!
On Tuesday 16th December (repeated 24th December) BBC2 will be broadcasting the first of the new The Choir series, following Gareth Malone as he returns to work with the Military Wives Choir. This year he thinks the Military Wives are the perfect choice to launch the nation s centenary commemorations of the outbreak of World War One and he pulls together a new Military Wives super-choir to stage a very special prom, in association with the National Theatre s War Horse Team.
Episode 2 will be shown on 24th December (repeated 25th December) and the War Horse Prom is planned to be aired on BBC 2 at 17:30 on 26th December, you really don t want to miss this musical spectacular!
