Bristol Quilters Quiltfest 2014
March 15th, 2014
Bristol Quilters is a thriving local quilt group with more than 120 members from all around the area. Every three years they hold a major exhibition and, at the end of May this year, they will be returning to the beautiful setting of Badminton School on the Downs in Bristol for a three-day summer Quiltfest .
The exhibitions are the largest quilt shows in the Bristol area and Quiltfest will be a colourful celebration of the talent and skills of their members, some of whom have won national and international acclaim for their work. They will be showing more than 100 beautiful quilts as well as wall hangings and a selection of non-hanging items hand and machine work, from traditional to contemporary in style, using a wide variety of techniques.
In addition to an exhibition that they hope will delight and inspire all textile, craft and quilt lovers, they will have a specialist quilting trader at the show each day and a sales table laden with handmade treats and gifts for you to buy. And, because no quilt show can be complete without them, there will be delicious homemade cakes and refreshments too!
Their chosen charity this year is the Great Western Air Ambulance and they will be running a tombola with stunning prizes to raise funds for them.
The entire exhibition is wheelchair accessible, and parking will be available on site.
Crafts and sewing in general and quilting in particular are becoming increasingly popular. Please go along and see what they do and be inspired!
Quiltfest will run from Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st May 2014 at Badminton School, Westbury Road, Bristol BS9 3BA.
Opening times: Thursday 1pm 6pm; Friday 10am 6pm; Saturday 10am 4pm
Admission: £4
