BSYFC U10 Wasps Wins Team of the Year 2013

BSYFC U10Bradley Stoke Radio  Sports Report show on BSR 103.4 host an annual award for both  Local Team of the Year  and  Sports Person of the Year.    This Year the Teams put forward included  Bradley Stoke 2nd X1 Cricket Team, Bradley Stoke U10 Girls,  Bradley Stoke Youth FC U10 Wasps  and  St Mary s RFC U16s Team.

Bradley Stoke Youth FC U10 Wasps  were nominated for their effort and perseverance. After a depressing season last year, when they only recorded 1 victory, the team stuck together and have really raised their game.

Gary Pearce and Simon Bloodworth, the team s managers couldn t be more proud of the boys,   ‘The boys have always shown great team spirit, consistently turning up for training each week, despite getting disappointing results throughout last year.   Their attitude and commitment has been a credit to them and this year we are seeing the results from their enthusiasm.   Since last season, the boys have matured, we have made a few changes and have a few new players.

‘Before the start of the new season, the boys parents organised a fun day.   The day involved a mums and DSCF0755dads 5-a-side football tournament, BBQ, sweet shop, cake shop, throw the welly, soak the coaches and a sponsored run for the children.    A great day was had by all and the Club raised enough funds to buy new kit and equipment.

Alex (defence), Cian (up front) and Alistair (goal keeper) said,   ‘We are enjoying playing for this Club and making lots of friends.   It s nice to meet new friends from different schools.   We train every Thursday and play every Sunday.   We are really happy to win this award.   Thanks to BSR and thanks to all those that voted for us.

With a few games left the Team have already secured 3rd  place in their division.

Congratulations Wasps and we would like to wish you all the best of luck for the rest of the season.
