Building a Better Future Today Exhibition

SAMPLED_3610151_930__notbigger__A Fun Family Outing Filled with LEGO!

Saturday 6th & 7th June 2015 at St Michael s Primary School, Stoke Gifford

This is a charity event with the aim of turning the money raised into Lego for the South West Children s Hospice.

Last year I was lucky enough to be lent a KS2 pupil. He came to me one afternoon a week on the understanding he earned 10 Lego bricks for his behaviour in class. This ‘deal was brilliant for him, as it helped him remain focused in class and worked for me too, as my class loved his visits; reading to him and developing their construction models. During a family day trip to ‘Beyond the Brick , (a Lego exhibition in Newport); I came across a man called Chief Fairy. He runs an organisation called Fairy Bricks. He has created a charity that turns money raised into Lego Bricks for many Children s Charities throughout the UK and now into Africa. His vision is to ‘brighten the lives of sick children through Lego. Over a chance conversation he gave me his business card and has since agreed to wave his Lego wand over the Stoke Gifford Area!

This event is already looking to be very exciting; we have professional builders from the Brickish Association, artwork from Jon the Brickladd, a Fairy Bricks raffle and Awesome Engineers running short taster sessions throughout the weekend and, of course, refreshments.

To find out more information look on our school website http://www.stmichaelssg.co.uk; if you click on the text next to the Lego face this will take you to the Exhibition webpage. Tickets are now available, just click on the ‘click here to buy your tickets .
