Can you spare a few hours a month to help Marie Curie in the Five Stokes area?

Marie Curie provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our team of nurses work every night of the year providing care to people who wish to spend the last few weeks and days of their life at home. Meaning they can be surrounded by the people and things they cherish the most.
Marie Curie’s Five Stokes Fundraising Group help to raise the money needed to provide this care in the community.
This year we are looking for new members to join our group in a range of roles from;
♦ Co-ordinating collection tins in local shops and businesses.
♦ Dropping off fundraising materials and banking monies from supermarket collections.
♦ Help running and coordinating events.
♦ Supporting the group with local business relationships and engagement.
The groups events range from collections in supermarkets, a Christmas wreath making event, bake off competition, online auctions and much more.
Stacey from the group said ”it’s great to be able to support Marie curie and know that the money we are raising is helping people at the most difficult time in their life. We have a lot of support locally and need some new members to help us make the most of this. We hold meetings throughout the year for planning and sharing ideas and members can then decide which upcoming tasks they can help with. Its flexible and informal and we would love to hear from anyone who can help us”.
People from all walks of life are welcome but need to be over 18 to register as a volunteer. You do not need any specific experience to join the group, one of the best parts of a fundraising group is that everyone brings their own unique skills and ideas. If you want to help with collections and events it is helpful if you can drive but not necessary for all of the roles.
