Competition launched to find local musical talent

Talented musicians and bands will have the opportunity to showcase their talents thanks to Willow Brook Centre and Bradley Stoke Radio (BSR 103.4FM).

Willow Brook has joined forces with the community radio station to launch Bradley Stoke s Got Music. The competition is open to singers, musicians or bands with members over 14 years of age who live in the BS32, BS33 or BS34 postcodes.

The winning act will get a ‘Live Lounge session on BSR 103.4FM Drive Time and the chance to perform at the Bradley Stoke Carnival on Saturday 30 August as well as at Willow Brook s Christmas lights switch on event in November.

Musicians can download an entry form from  willowbrookcentre.co.uk or Bradleystokeradio.com and email the completed form to [email protected] with a clip of them performing by Sunday 2 August.

Shortlisted musicians will be asked to perform live in heats on Saturday 15 August in Town Square at Willow Brook in front of a panel of three judges. The final will take place on Saturday 22August at Willow Brook Centre.

Willow Brook centre manager Andy Wynn said; “We are looking for talented performers of any musical genre whether it be pop, jazz, classical or heavy metal – everyone is welcome to apply.   We know there is a wealth of talent in Bradley Stoke so we are looking forward to showcasing their work. ”

BSR 103.4FM chairman Andy Ward said; “We are really excited to have joined forces with Willow Brook to search for the hottest local musical talent. This will be a big event for our community in Bradley Stoke and a fantastic opportunity for local acts to reach a much bigger audience.
