Crowds Enjoy Patchway’s Fusion Festival

Local people of all ages flocked to Patchway’s Fusion Festival on 14th July, to enjoy a host of music, dance and arts displays.

The festival was a culmination of a number of innovative community projects showcasing the creative abilities of local people. This year’s theme was cultural fusion and the event was well supported by local primary schools, community partnerships and the town council as well as local businesses. Performances and exhibits were put on my Holy Family Primary School, Patchway Youth Dancers, Patchway Panthers, Patchway Youth Drama, Link Group, Patchway Youth Centre Bands, Callicroft Primary School, Stoke Lodge Primary School, St Chads C of E Primary, Coniston Primary School and Patchway Arts & Crafts group.

Children enjoyed a range of circus skills equipment and some simple-looking (but actually quite tricky) games put on by Avon Fire Brigade, while adults enjoyed the wide range of music, dance and drama displays on the three stages.

All around the edge of the field were gazebos with artworks from local groups. Pictured is the huge piece of art which will be displayed at the new Conniston Community Centre.

A particular well done to Aly’s Dance Group from St Chads Primary School who displayed some fantastic routines!
