Drive-in Movies at Filton Airfield this ChristmasDecember 9th, 2020
Adventure Cinema, the touring outdoor cinema company, are returning to the former Filton Airfield this Christmas. From Friday 18 to Wednesday 23 December, you can enjoy fantastic festive movies including Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, Gremlins, The Muppet Christmas Carol, It’s A Wonderful Life, Die Hard (it’s a Christmas movie!) and more, all from the comfort and safety of your car.
The films being shown at Brabazon, the former Filton Airfield, will include timeless Christmas favourites, cult classics and recent blockbusters, all on a giant LED screen with state-of-the-art technology to transmit sound into your vehicle. The cars will be parked on the old landing airstrip, giving an interesting perspective to a fascinating Bristol site. There will also be a selection of hot food and drinks on sale.
The events are contact-free and all cars will be parked to allow for social distancing, with additional measures put in place for a safe event experience, following all government guidelines.
Places are extremely limited, so you are advised to buy your tickets as soon as possible.
Tickets are £27.50 per car and can be purchased from: www.adventuredrivein.co.uk/locations/bristol-filton-airfield
Ben Lovell, Co-Director of Adventure Cinema said:
‘Following our hugely successful drive-in cinema tour across the UK this summer we are looking forward to getting back on the road for Christmas and can’t wait to return to Bristol. This is Christmas movie experience like no other!”
Partnerships Director for YTL Arena Complex Sarah McBride said: “We are really pleased to be able to bring back the drive-in cinema for Christmas. We hope that it will bring some fun at the end of what has been a hugely challenging year for many. We are committed to repurposing the Brabazon Hangars to create an arena for Bristol and the South West, but in the meantime we will continue to look for opportunities to bring live entertainment to Bristol, at Brabazon – on the former Filton airfield.”
The former Filton Airfield is owned by YTL and is currently being transformed into Brabazon new neighbourhood.
Earlier this year, our plans to repurpose the Brabazon Hangars to create an arena for Bristol and the South West were granted planning permission.
The Hangars are steeped in history, most famously known as the birthplace of Concorde and supersonic travel and will soon be repurposed into YTL Arena Complex, an exciting 365-day-a-year entertainment destination.
The 17,080-capacity arena, one of the largest in the UK, will host live music, comedy, sport, theatre, and much more.
With the festive spirit in mind we are delighted to be offering up three tickets to win in our Adventure Drive-In Christmas Competition.
