Easter Egg-stravaganza at Specsavers for the Hope for Morgan Appeal

The local Specsaver store in the WillowBrook Centre  has pledged to support the Hope for Morgan Appeal this year and will start its fundraising efforts this Saturday 4 April with an Easter egg-stravaganza.

The store is hosting an array of Easter-themed activities to help raise funds in aid of local 11-year-old boy, Morgan Walker, who has cerebral palsy.

Specsavers will be hosting a bake sale, where customers can enjoy some homemade treats in return for donations. There will be the chance to win some chocolately treats, with a ‘guess the number of mini eggs in a jar competition, as well as an Easter egg tombola. The team has also put together some ‘goody cases . In return for a £2 donation, customers will receive a free sight test voucher and some Specsavers product and treats; five lucky customers will find a 50% off specs voucher.

Ed Stanleigh, store director at Specsavers in Bradley Stoke, says: ‘When we heard about Morgan and his story, we were really moved and wanted to support the family as they try to achieve their fundraising goal of £70,000. The money raised will go towards the operations Morgan needs to have in America, as well as equipment that will help with his rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

  ‘As part of the community, I feel that it s important we support each other in times of need, so we hope that local residents really get behind this by coming along to grab some homemade treats and donate to a very good cause. It s also great to know that Morgan and his family will be joining us for the event too.

Hope for Morgan was set up by his parents, Zoe and Darren Walker, to help raise money to fund his treatment, while raising awareness of his disease. Although there is no cure for Morgan, the money that is raised will provide him with an operation helping to give him a much better quality of life.
