Engage Festival – FREE FAMILY EVENT

Following the huge success of the 2007 Engage Cultural Festival, which is held every 3 years, South Gloucestershire Council is delighted to announce that they are holding another Engage Festival on Saturday 16 October 2010. This year’s venue is the WISE Campus in Filton College.

The format of the festival will, as in past years, include colourful live performances, stalls, stands and workshops with cultural themes. There will be food from around the world with suggestions for healthy eating and a wide range of activities for all members of the family and all age groups.

Organiser George Kousouros told us “The Engage Festival of Culture brings together peoples from various cultures that today live or work in South Gloucestershire. The aim of the festival is for peoples from all cultures to meet together, work together and learn about each others’ cultural heritage. This we believe will go a long way towards breaking down barriers, developing a stronger, safer community through knowledge and understanding, people coming together sharing aspects of their cultural heritage via dance, music, food and dress.”

Don’t miss this wonderful extravaganza of live music, song and dance with world foods to taste and activities for all ages. Everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy this free fun day out. The doors will be open to the pubic from 10am and the last performance is set to finish at 6pm.
