Extra Park and Ride services for M32 closure weekend

A4-Metrobus-M32-ClosureMetroBus and Bristol City Council have arranged for extra Park and Ride services to operate whilst the M32 is closed this weekend.

People visiting Bristol on the weekend of 10-12 June are advised to use the Park and Ride services which are a cheap and convenient way of travelling into Bristol city centre.

Drivers are also being advised to find alternative routes into the city while the M32 is closed for the MetroBus bridge installation.

M32 Closures

The M32 closure will take place between junctions 1 and 3 from 8pm on Friday June 10 until 6am on Monday June 13. The closures will allow a new bridge to be put in place over the motorway for the MetroBus bus-only junction and required to carry out this work safely.

Alternative routes in and out of Bristol will be clearly signposted during the closures. Route diversions are being managed by Highways England who are working with Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath & North East Somerset councils.

Traffic will be advised of the closure prior to junctions 18 and 16 of the M5. On the M4 traffic will be advised to come off at the junction 18 to access south and east Bristol. To help you plan your journeys in advance please visit www.travelwest.info/m32

Highways England provides live traffic information via its website at www.highways.gov.uk/traffic or from a phone or mobile device at m.highways.gov.uk.

Minimising disruption

Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council’s MetroBus teams have worked with Highways England to minimise disruption resulting from this work so that it can be delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Highways England will be using the closure to undertake survey work at Eastville viaduct to reduce the need for future closures.
