Fabulous Knitted Tribute Expanded at Stoke Gifford Retirement Village

The very talented Knit & Natter group at ExtraCare Stoke Gifford Retirement Village have been busy again this year, adding to their wonderful Remembrance Day knit tribute. Readers may recall that last year they created an incredible 6 foot tall Knitted Soldier, which took the group three months to create collectively.The soldier was the work of 12 residents ranging in age from 63 to 93 years old.
This year the wonderfully creative group have crafted a beautiful knitted 8ft representation of the London Cenotaph, which faithfully recreates the monument’s shape in soft yarn, using different shades to mimic the stone-like appearance. Poppies in yarn embellish the base, paying homage to the original structure. Amazing!
