Fantastic weekend for Bradley Stoke CC as all four teams win!

For only the 2nd time in its relatively short history, all 4 Bradley Stoke league teams recorded victories on Saturday. The 1sts beat Portishead by 5 wickets chasing down 153 inside 32 overs. Wayne Passmore (44 No) and Adam Davis (32) top scored for Bradley Stoke. Earlier Bhushan Mankar was the star man with the ball taking 4 for 27.

The 2nds dominated there game away at Failand & Portbury. The visitors posted a mammoth 297 for 6 with Dan Tobin scoring 120 no in an innings that included 5 sixes and twelve 4 s.   Tobin was ably supported by Chris Phillips who scored 54 and Barry Radford who scored his maiden club half century smashing 3 sixes on his way to 57 no.   A Failand and Portbury team missing a few players were always going to struggle against a strong Bradley Stoke bowling attack and eventually succumbed to 152 all out.   Joe Marsden was the only plus point for F&P smashing 56 no. The Prinsloo brothers opened the bowling and both chipped in with 2 wickets before man of the match Dan Tobin finished the innings with 2 wickets in an 8 ball spell.

The 3rd team extended their lead at the top of the A XI division one, as they beat 2nd placed Bedminster by 45 runs. Andy Burrows top scored for Bradley Stoke with 45 to help Bradley Stoke to 163 ao. Bedminster were dismissed for 118 with D Talbot taking 3 wickets for the home side.

The 4th team were away at Carsons & Mangotsfield and were asked to bat first after losing the toss. It didn t go particularly well for the visitors as they were bowled out for 135 within 43 overs. Veteran Raj Tailor (39) and U 15 Alex Wilson Hollies (22) top scored for Bradley Stoke.   With a below par total to defend Bradley Stoke were going to need early wickets which they got through opening bowler Tim Onslow who recorded career best figures of 5-26 in his 12 overs. The youngsters then took over for Bradley Stoke with U 15s Alex Wilson Hollies, Aaron Holman and James Hughes each claiming a wicket each and u 13s leg spinner Jack Strudley claiming a wicket and the run out of the C&M number 10 which earned victory for Bradley Stoke.
