B radley Stoke Festival runs this weekend 9-11 June – let’s hope the rain stops and the sun puts in an appearance!! The festival is also celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the formation of the Bradley Stoke Town Council and to celebrate the TC are sponsoring some fun rides!
Friday 9th June: The Picnic in the Park starts at 10.30am until 2pm at the Jubilee Centre. Professor Panic presents his range of circus skills, juggling and entertainment in the Big Top, alongside local craft and community stalls and a bouncy castle hosted by Bradley Stoke Radio providing music and entertainment. Refreshments will be served by the local WI during the morning with Face Painting also available
Saturday 10th June 11.30-18.00
The demonstration area in Jubilee Green features the King Ramps Skate Pipe with displays from the pro’s, street art demo and “have a go” sessions. Music is provided by local bands; Gecko Blasters, Uncle Buck, Dockside, Atlantic, S Glos Jazz band and the Madness tribute band, Nuttyness (above) alongside local dance groups, clubs and associations.
In celebration of their 25th aniversary this year, the Bradley Stoke Town Council are sponsoring 3 fun activities: a Total Wipeout, Bungee Run and Surf Simulator suitable for both children and the not so young! These will all be available to use free of charge although a donation bucket for the Mayor’s charities will be available should you like to make a small entirely voluntary donation.
Fun rides for the children include trampolines, giant slides, football games, giant inflatables, a Helter Skelter and the Vertical Xtreme Climbing Wall alongside the local BS Scouts providing longbow archery and other activities.
New this year will be The Bazaar, a large marquee housing a range of different arts, crafts, clothes and gift ideas, alongside the sideshows and community stalls offering a wide range of local products and novelties.
The BS Youth Football Club Tournament for Year 1 Boys and Girls, with 14 schools and 140 children taking part, starts at midday on the top field soccer pitches.
Sunday 11th June
The annual Bradley Stoke 10K multi terrain race organised by the Sole Sisters starts at 9.30am and finishes at the Jubilee Centre. 500+ Competitors are expected.
At Baileys Court Activity Centre there will be a joint “Church in the Park” outdoor service from the Bradley Stoke Churches starting at 10.30am followed at 13.00 by a Quick Cricket tournament featuring under 11 players from 4 local clubs, plus a BBQ, stalls and evening entertainment in the clubhouse. The BS Bowls club will provide roll up demonstrations throughout the afternoon.
A Skate Board competition along with King Ramps will also be taking place at the New Bradley Stoke Skate Park with circus skills and other entertainments from 10.30 through to 16.00 and everyone is welcome to enter.Tags: Bradley Stoke, festival Back to news
