Free Help From NHS to Stop Smoking

Residents are being offered a helping hand to make a fresh start with our local NHS Stop Smoking Service this New Year.

If your New Year s resolution this year is to stop smoking then you might like to know that your local NHS Stop Smoking Service will be running one to one appointments or group sessions to help you quit.

Last year NHS South Gloucestershire s Stop Smoking Service helped over 1780 people to give up the habit and all the support and advice they give is free.

Justin Boult, NHS Stop Smoking Adviser at NHS South Gloucestershire, said: “If your New Years resolution is to give up smoking then you don t need to go it alone. You are four times more likely to stick to your resolution if you use our free Stop Smoking Service where we can offer you support, advice and a range of nicotine replacement therapies to help you quit and break the habit. ”

January is estimated to be the most successful time to stub out and NHS South Gloucestershire is running a series of events where you can chat to the Stop Smoking Team to find out how they can help or try one of the local drop-in support groups.
