Friends of Jubilee Green Praised For “Fabulous” Easter Celebration

Over fifty children took part in today’s Bunny Egg Hunt at Jubilee Green, following last year’s equally popular Easter event. Local families were impressed to be offered a whole morning of fun activities in and around the park, all at no charge. Parents expressed their thanks for a fabulous morning, whilst one look at the childrens’ smiles revealed that the schedule of events had hit the mark for them too.

On arrival at the park from 10am onwards, children of all ages were offered paper and pens to enable them to take part in the Bunny Egg Hunt – in which they had to find and name the ten bunnies hidden throughout the park. Prizes were awarded to everyone who completed the challenge! With bottomless refreshments on tap – very kindly provided by Starbucks at Aztec West – the youngsters then had a chance to make Easter Crowns, bumble bees and/or decorated ‘eggs’ using a fabulous collection of arts and crafts materials sourced from the popular ‘Scrapstore’ in Bristol.

Crown making activities culminated in a musical Easter bonnet parade around the park, with 3 winners each receiving a chocolate easter egg. All other entrants received a consolation prize, so everyone was kept happy.

After time for some final arts and crafts and a few more refreshments, the event ended with parents commenting what a great sense of community we have in Bradley Stoke.

12 year old Michael told us “It was awesome – a really brilliant event. I especially liked the creative activities and am pleased with the crown that I made. Amahna, 7, said she most enjoyed finding the rabbits around the park. Their parents commented that they really appreciated having the Starbucks coffee being served and that the children had enjoyed the Teddy Tombola.

We would like to say ‘well done and thank you’ to Michelle and Helen from the Friends of Jubilee Green who organised this fantastic community event, and who work so hard for the benefit of others.
