Have your say on leisure centre improvements
August 18th, 2014
Local residents are being invited to have their say on possible improvements to the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre. Both the Bradley Stoke centre and the one at Longwell Green experience very high demand and the council is considering how facilities could be improved to better meet the needs of the community. At the same time the council is looking to reduce the amount of subsidy it pays to Circadian Trust as the operator of the two centres.
Improvements could help to meet both objectives, and initial ideas include:
· Extended gym facilities
· Improved dance studio/exercise class space
· Activity rooms that could be used for meetings and parties
· Improved catering facilities (at Longwell Green)
· Improved facilities for children and families
· Improved facilities for a wider range of sports
· Additional parking provision
· Changing internal layouts to make more efficient use of space
Consultation on the improvements runs between 14 August and 30 September.
