IN or OUT? EU Referendum debate in Bradley StokeJune 23rd, 2016
Bradley Stoke was the venue for an EU Referendum debate last night (Wednesday 22nd) as the campaigning period for today’s (Thursday 23rd) vote came to an end. Holy Trinity Church hosted the event that saw a range of issues discussed with speakers representing both sides. The debate was hosted by Churches Together and the Multi-Faith Forum and resulted in a passionate range of views expressed by speakers representing either side of the debate and from audience members.
Representing the Leave side were three Members of Parliament, local representative Jack Lopresti MP, alongside Peter Bone MP and Tom Pursglove MP. For Remain were Razvan Constantinescu from UWE, Mandy Cormack from Unilever and Tony Dyer from the official Remain campaign. The audience asked the panel about a range of issues relating to the Referendum and Britain’s relationship with the EU. There was a good turnout from residents, with some stating that the debate had helped them to make up their mind.
The organisers would like to thank Holy Trinity Church for hosting the debate, and for the speakers for attending.Tags: Bradley Stoke, debate, EU, Europe, Holy Trinity, Leave, referendum, Remain Back to news
