The Bristol Academy Community League (BACL) has started training ahead of its second season.
BACL is a community based league trying to give youngsters an opportunity to better themselves through sport. The league consists of 5 Teams from Easton and Weston-Super-Mare to Newport. The league is split into two age groups 14-16 and 16-19. Helmet and shoulder pads are supplied giving anyone in those age groups an opportunity to play one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.
Three players from last year s League went on to earn caps for Great Britain U19s in their victory over Holland, L.Holloway (Northern Bobcats), C.Graham (Eastern Gators), A.Saunders (Welsh Tomahawks). Alex Jenkins and Elliot Hoyte, both former community Team players here in Bristol are now both enjoying scholarships in the USA playing at UIW and Boise State respectively.
