Jack Lopresti MP shows support for proposed extension to The Mall at Cribbs CausewayDecember 15th, 2016
Jack Lopresti, MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke, today visited The Mall at Cribbs Causeway to meet Centre Manager Deb Jones and discuss the owners’ major investment plans.
The meeting follows South Gloucestershire councillors’ decision on the 3rd of November to approve the planning application, in line with the recommendation of planning officers.
Jack Lopresti MP said: “I am very excited about the planned extension to The Mall at Cribbs Causeway and welcome the vision set out by the owners. The significant investment of over £300 million proposed is a huge vote of confidence in this part of the South West.
“The provision of such a wide range of local benefits at the heart of the Cribbs Patchway New Neighbourhood – from thousands of jobs, public space, affordable housing and much else besides – is something that I would like to see delivered as soon as possible. I know very many people from across the region feel exactly the same way and I look forward to a thriving and revitalised Cribbs acting as a catalyst for further growth and economic dynamism.”
Jack was briefed about some of the benefits the plans are set to bring to the area, including over £316 million of investment, over 3,000 new jobs and major transport and infrastructure investment of almost £35 million.
