Partners (staff) and local schools were asked to get involved and knit Shauns that would later take part in the hunt.

The hunt will take place from 6 July to 31 August during normal shop opening hours and will   raise funds for the charity. (Schools involved are: Patchway Community School, St Bedes, Chipping Sodbury, Coniston Road Primary, Wheatfield Drive and Castle School.)

To take part, go to the Haberdashery department on the second floor. Entrants will be invited to make a minimum donation of £1 and all entries will be put into a prize draw to win £100 gift card to spend in John Lewis.

Head of Branch Lucy Ramsyer said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for local schools, Partners and our customers children to get involved from the outset of this hunt. I have been really impressed with the quality of the knitted Shauns and their decorations. With all the excitement around Shaun in the City at The Mall Cribbs Causeway, we are really excited to be involved and hope, along with other activities planned, to raise a significant amount of money to go towards this very worthy cause. ”

Laura Madams, community and events fundraiser at The Grand Appeal, said: “We are thrilled that John Lewis is taking on this challenge for The Grand Appeal.

“Our charity wholly relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses, and we are so pleased that the Shaun in the City trail has inspired them to get involved and help us continue to raise vital funds for Bristol Children s Hospital. We hope lots of people come out to support John Lewis Cribbs Causeway s hunt! ”
