Leading Chef Accepts Top Role at Old Down Estate

Chris Wicks, one of Bristol s most highly regarded and respected chefs, has joined Old Down Estate, near Thornbury, as Executive Chef.

Chris, winner of the Lifetime Achievement award at Bristol Good Food Awards 2014, is heading up the kitchens at the 66-acre, luxury wedding, conference and events venue that also boasts an award winning Country Park, farm shop and café.

Chris said, “It s an exciting time to join such a prestigious venue. We re focusing on delivering superb food using only the finest local ingredients – some of which come from our very own Victorian walled garden, just metres from the kitchen. ”

To celebrate Chris new appointment, The Estate is opening its Manor doors for guests to dine in the beautiful orangery for six consecutive Sunday s, starting on Sunday September 21st.
