Little Stoke Youthclub Members in Sponsored ‘Stay Awake’

In a bid to raise funds for next month’s Children In Need Appeal, ambitious teens from Little Stoke took part in their first ever sponsored ‘Stay Awake’ last night.

Demand to take part in the sponsored event was so high that the Youth Club had to bring in additional members of staff to ensure sufficient adult supervision. We went along just a couple of hours into the ‘Stay Awake’ and spoke to some of the teenagers about how they thought they would be able to stay awake for the full 13 hours of the challenge, up until 8am this morning.

They told us they had a huge range of activities planned to keep themselves awake – from football coaching, watching TV and films on the big screen at the club, to dodge ball, a bouncy castle, arts and craft, snooker and much, much more!

Ellis told us “I’m so excited because this night is going to be great fun!”

Her friend Zoe said “I am a bit worried in case I fall asleep but it’s going to be great spending time will all our mates from the club”

As of last night the group had already raised over £100 for Children in Need – with more money to come in. Congratulations to Sam Walker who had raised the highest individual amount, at £27.
