Local children take centre stage at Willow Brook

Local youngsters will get the opportunity to show off their talents at a Children s Festival hosted by Willow Brook Centre throughout December.

The festival has been put together by Willow Brook and Explore Learning to give local children s groups and clubs a platform to show shoppers what they can do. The groups cater for children of all ages from babies through to teenagers and include dance, music, scouts and even first aid.

Willow Brook is also running a competition for local primary school children aged 7 to 11 to write a Christmas story. The five winning stories picked from each age group will be included in a short book titled “Christmas Stories, by the Children of Bradley Stoke ”.

The Children s Festival kicks off on Thursday 4 December at 10.30am with Story Corner from Bradley Stoke Library.

Thursday 4 December -Jolly Babies Music with Mummy sessions at 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Friday 5 December and Friday 12 December – Jo Jingles at 2pm
Sunday 7 December – Dance Works at noon.
Tuesday 9 December – Bradley Stoke Community School from 11am to 2pm.
Wednesday 10 December – Glitter Bugs Dance Crew at 5pm
Saturday 13 December – Little Stoke Development Centre brass players
Sunday 14 December and Wednesday 17 December – Babyballet at 2pm and 3pm
Sunday 14 December – Scouts
Tuesday 16 December – St Mary s Catholic School
Thursday 18 December – Meadowbrook School Choir
Friday 19 December – Story Time with Bradley Stoke Library at 10.30am and Jolly Babies Music with Mummy sessions at 1pm and 2pm.
Sunday 21 December – St John s Ambulance Badgers and 37th Kingswood Drumming Band

Andy Wynn, centre manager, said: “There are lots of fantastic clubs and groups that cater for children of all ages in our community. We wanted to put them centre stage at Willow Brook so parents and children could learn more about what there is to get involved in. ”

Miss Clare who runs Bradley Stoke s Babyballet said “When I asked my children and their parents if they would like to perform some Babyballet at Willow Brook s Children s Festival they were all really excited, now we can t wait for our performance on Sunday 14th. ”

Sophie, from Explore Learning, Bradley Stoke said: “This is a really exciting event for us and Willow Brook, I can t wait to see some of the performances and to see some of the writing talent in local students. ”
