Local Woman Shortlisted for Business Awards

Jackie Novels

A local woman who we featured in the January edition of Bradley Stoke Matters heard last week that she has got through to the semi-finals for four separate business awards.  Jackie Novels, 37, has been chosen from more than 900 entrants to go through to the semi-finals of the Natwest Venus Awards for Bristol and Somerset, which recognise women in business.

Jackie runs Meals for Squeals, a baby food cookery school in Badminton Road that teaches parents to make home-made food for their babies or toddlers.

The shortlists of five semi-finalists for each award were announced at an awards event in the Grosvenor Casino, Bristol, last week.  Meals for Squeals is up for awards as New Business of the Year; Small Business of the Year; Home-based Business of the Year and Business Mother of the Year.  Jackie now faces a round of interviews with the judges for each category. The Business Mother of the Year winner will be decided by a public vote on Youtube with the  winners being announced at an awards ceremony at the Bristol Marriott hotel on March 21.

Jackie told us: “It s been an amazing year for me, setting up my business and seeing it become successful. To have that recognised in the Natwest Venus Awards really is the icing on the cake. ”
