Meadow Brook Primary School pupil opens new Iceland store
February 27th, 2015
Bradley Stoke Matters was delighted to be invited along to the opening of the new Iceland Food Store this week when Oliver Leary, year 4 pupil at Meadowbrook Primary School, officially opened the store at the Willow Brook Centre, accompanied by some of his year group. His Now Open banner design was selected as the winning design in a competition linked to the launch of the new store and can be seen as you enter the Willow Brook Centre along the store s back fence.
Oliver was invited to cut the ribbon to the store on its first day of trading, Tuesday 24th February, and accepted a cheque for £250 on behalf of his school. Jon Barr, Headteacher of Meadowbrook Primary School, commented Oliver s poster design was brilliant and it was fantastic to see all the children so focussed and engaged in creating their designs. Part of our school ethos is Inspiring Successful Learners and the children really demonstrated this by using their creativity and attention to detail to create some really impressive designs.
Meadowbrook Primary School joined The Olympus Academy Trust in January 2015, a family of schools lead by Dave Baker, Executive Headteacher, that now includes Abbeywood Community School, Bradley Stoke Community School and Charborough Road Primary School
