NETWORK COUNSELLING GET BRISTOL LISTENING
November 13th, 2015
On Friday 27th November, Network Counselling & Training celebrates Listening Day. Listening Day , started in America, highlights the value of listening that listening to people makes them feel that their lives matter .
Network Counselling and Training will be launching their new animated video, How do you listen , made with contribution from people across Bristol, offering five tips to better listening. The charity will be inviting you to spend just 3 minutes of your day, on Friday 27th November really listening to someone, a friend, neighbour, colleague or family member and will be offering help and tips.
Network Counselling and Training is a Bristol Charity providing training and counselling.
Network Counselling will also be helping pupils in schools in Bristol, test out their listening skills as well as providing information and advice to churches and communities working in a caring, helping or pastoral setting.
Eileen Cahill, Chair of Trustees at Network Counselling explained;
What we have learnt at Network is that perhaps the greatest gift we can give each other is our attention. Listening Day invites us all to make time to listen and we hope Network Counselling can help with some tips on how we can listen better to each other .
Watch our video, go to www.network.org.uk or find us on Facebook.
For now you could try these tips on being a better listener,
(1) Say less, listen more.
(2) Stay relaxed and attentive.
(3) Use open, welcoming body language.
(4) Show understanding and empathy.
(5) No need to solve everything – just listen.
