Voluntary Group secures over £60,000 to build a youth structure and improve park space.

Friends of Jubilee Green are delighted to announce  they have achieved their fundraising target to build a much needed Youth Structure for Bradley Stoke.

They  have been awarded a grant for £49,999 through the Community Spaces programme which is being managed by Groundwork UK as an Award Partner to the Big Lottery Fund.   Community Spaces is part of the Big Lottery Fund s Changing Spaces initiative.

The project will deliver an innovative, community inclusive structure, that the young people of Bradley Stoke have been involved with every step of the way from design to helping build the structure.   The project will also improve some of the paths in the park to ensure accessibility to all.

Michelle Dent, Chair and Trustee of Friends of Jubilee Green comments; “We are absolutely delighted with the news.   Our volunteers have been working very hard over the last 3 years to secure a major grant to build this much needed structure. We have involved the young people of Bradley Stoke in each step of this project and we are looking forward to building elements of
the structure with them. ”

Friends of Jubilee Green are also delighted that Bradley Stoke Town Council are giving their full support to this project through practical support and match funding.    The project will be delivered with the assistance of officers of South Gloucestershire Council and specialist contractors.   Work will be completed by September 2013.
