Opticians joins fundraising effort for local boy this SaturdayAugust 14th, 2017
Staff from the local Bradley Stoke opticians will be holding a fundraising day on Saturday 19th August to help nine-year-old local boy Bailey Cooper.
Specsavers has joined forces with the Willow Brook Centre, where the store is based, to support Bailey and his family as he continues his battle against non-Hodgkin lymphoma. A bouncy castle will be on site and staff will be dressing up as superheroes or characters featured on the store’s wide range of children’s specs. Members of the public are also encouraged to come dressed as superheroes and prizes will be awarded to the best dressed boy and girl on the day. Bailey’s family will also be at the event on the day.
Ed Stanleigh, store director, says: ‘We wanted to do something to support Bailey and his family and I hope that this bake sale and fancy dress day will help as the youngster continues his treatment. We’d like to say a big thank you to staff at the Willow Brook Centre for all their help in organising the event. We’ll be delighted to see everyone on the day and ask them to please dig deep and support this fundraising initiative for a very dear local boy. It’s something the whole community seems to have taken to their hearts and we were keen to help where we could.’
