Patchway Success in Bristol Student of the Year

Patchway s Student Business team dominated at the finals of the Student of the Year competition in Bristol.   The event, which was attended by many Business people from Bristol and South  Gloucestershire as well as the Mayor of Bristol, celebrated the top achievement from the highest performing schools from 30 teams originally entering the competition.

Patchway was nominated for an outstanding 6 out of the 7 awards on offer, and won in an important three categories:  Best Project manager, Best team Performance and Best Product, which was an Engineering website for the client Atkins.

At the ceremony, the presenter of Best Team Performance award said of Patchway Power 4 (Rosie Foale, Rachel Benjamin, Lauren Brown and Lizzie Manley: “The client was extremely impressed with this team s level of professionalism/presentation. From start to finish they came across as a group who knew what they were setting out to do – and most importantly, followed through! ”   For Rosie Foale s award of Best Project Manager, they commented: “She was able to keep the team focused and on track throughout the competition.   She ensured that all four team members stayed together and delivered to a very high standard throughout. ”

Lauren Brown was also nominated for Best Student, one of four from the whole competition.   The audience was told that: “Lauren s personal contribution has been outstanding. Her self-confidence inspired her team to deliver their proposals on time and to a high standard. She has is quietly confident and efficient approach with a very pleasant manner. Any employer should consider themselves fortunate to have such an employee. ” Head teacher Jane Millicent said: “This was a fantastic achievement from all involved and exemplifies the skills and qualities that students develop during their time at Patchway.   Business skills are important in all walks of life and we pride ourselves on preparing students for successful future. ”
