Photography session opens Clifton High School Celebrations

CHS-Oct-13-WildlifePhotographyWorkshopA wildlife photography workshop, hosted by Bristol-based photographer, marine biologist and underwater camera man, Tom Walmsley, today kicked off Clifton High School s week-long celebration of science, art, environmental, literary and musical events.

The programme of 19 events, which showcases the work of its pupils and wider school community, runs between Thursday 10 and Tuesday 15 October. Many are open to the public.

Highlights of the programme include:

  • An evening with acclaimed film director Ken Loach (Friday 11 October at 7.00pm);
  • A joint review into the Science of Chocolate by the school s Chemistry and Food Technology Departments and local chocolatier Lisa Clarke (Monday 14 October at 10.00am);
  • A guide to food writing by Telegraph journalist Xanthe Clay (Monday 14  October at 4.00pm);
  • A visit from author Holly Smale, whose semi-autobiographical “Geek Girl ” is currently the No.1 Bestselling debut children s book this year. (Tuesday 15 October at 12.10pm).

The school is also holding an open day for prospective parents and pupils on Saturday (October 12) from 9.30am until 12.30pm.
