Prince Charles Invited To Christmas Market and Fayre
November 22nd, 2010
Year 10 students undertaking the Concorde Partnership s two-year Business Studies Diploma have sent a personal invitation to HRH Prince Charles, asking him to attend their special Christmas Market and Fayre, which they have organised in a bid to raise £500 for his charity, The Prince’s Trust.
The Fayre takes place at Patchway Community College on Wednesday 1st December from 5pm to 7pm – and the students have already sold over 20 tables to local stallholders.
With a start-up investment of just £10, the group of seven students was challenged at the beginning of the Autumn Term to turn the stake into a massive £500 for the charity by the time they broke up for Christmas. Under the watchful eye of their teacher the budding entrepreneurs brainstormed a number of ideas before finally choosing the Christmas Market / Fayre as being the best option to achieve their target within the strict timescales given.
The group has spent the last several weeks applying their new business skills to plan every aspect of the event. They are hoping that visitors will enjoy doing their Christmas shopping in a relaxed atmosphere while their children enjoy games, refreshments and a visit to Santa’s grotto – which has tested the students’ creative skills.

Entrance is £2 for adults, 50p for children over 5 or £4 for a family of two adults and two children. Santa s Grotto is £1.50, including a gift. Please do go along to support this fundraising event if you can. All proceeds will go to The Prince s Trust. We wish the students every success with the event!
