Room for more Artists at the local Stokes Art Group

Artists do you know there is a new art group for residents of the Stokes areas of South Gloucestershire – why not join them for the 2013 season? The group meets on a Tuesday evening or a Thursday morning at Christ The King Church, Mautravers Close, Bradley Stoke.

Stokes Art Group is an informal group of artists with wide ranging ability levels, who meet regularly and work on their own masterpieces. Although they are not tutor lead, help is on hand for those who need it. To keep the “Vibe Alive” they have themed project competitions, “Artists in the Spotlight” and evening events. They are even on Facebook and have their own website and newsletters which feature members, competitions and general “arty” stuff.

This friendly group are always ready to welcome new members but even if the session times are wrong for you, with two levels of membership available you can still be part of the group, enter project competitions, be listed on the website, feature in newsletters, and attend SAG events. At the next evening event, which will be on Tuesday 22 January 2013, current members will be displaying their artworks as they compete for the prestigious “Jam Jar Prize” – and Mike Day, Master Framer and gallery owner at Imaginations in Patchway, will be judging the entries and talking about his trade.

To find out more about this fantastic local group please visit the website where you will find details of SAG membership, group sessions and charges. You will also find links to their newsletters and images of this year’s competitions.
