Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour
July 24th, 2015
It was a pleasure for Bradley Stoke & Little Stoke Gifford Matters to be invited along to see the arrival of Rugby s greatest prize, the Webb Ellis Cup, on Tuesday July 14 at SGS College as part of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour.
The Trophy, which was in Bristol for one day as part of the Trophy Tour, visited SGS to provide rugby fans with an opportunity to get a close-up look and a photo with the Webb Ellis Cup. Bristol Rugby star, Gavin Henson, met with fans and signed autographs before officially opening the College s new sports facility. In the evening, the audience enjoyed an exhibition rugby match between Bristol Classics vs Old Filtonians.

Simon Panes, General Manager of Sports Academies at SGS College, said: We are proud to host the world-famous Webb Ellis Cup at SGS College. The Trophy has brought people of all ages together in our community to celebrate this important occasion. Bristol has been buzzing with activity with the arrival of the Trophy as part of the nationwide celebration of Rugby and we are all counting down with excitement to Rugby World Cup 2015.
Launched on June 10 marking exactly 100 days-to-go to the opening match, the trophy tour will be visiting more than 100 clubs, organisations and rugby festivals, from grassroots to elite level with over 300 events scheduled across the 100 days. Its arrival at Twickenham will be 18th September, ahead of the Opening Ceremony of Rugby World Cup 2015.
