SMOB Ladies Unbeatable in 2015/16 Season

ladies-june-16-webCongratulations to St. Mary’s Old Boys Ladies rugby team who have received their silverware after an incredible season in the NC2 South West North league this season. The ladies only lost one league game and have been untouchable since September, finishing on a 13 league game unbeaten run.

Having only a small squad of 16 last July, the ladies have worked hard and welcomed players of all abilities, signing a total of 11 players this season, half of which had never played before. The team spirit and commitment from all players and coach have been the driving force this season and they look forward to celebrating their success together at the clubs Annual Dinner.

Captain, Kirsty Fido, praised her squads achievements this season and is looking forward to new challenges in a new league next season, under new coaching staff, saying “We have a great set up at St Mary’s with fantastic facilities. The girls are excellent and are always helping one another on and off the pitch, I wouldn’t want to be a part of any other team!”.

The ladies will now enjoy some well deserved rest ready to start pre season on Tuesday 12 July.

If you’d like to join the ladies next season as an experienced player or are interested in taking up a new sport, you can find the ladies on Twitter @SMOBL and Facebook, St Mary’s Old Boys Ladies. Alternatively, feel free to give Kirsty a call on 07811 805 917.
