South Gloucestershire Over Fifties Forum celebrate 20 years

123Cllr Ian Boulton, Chairman of South Gloucestershire Council, joined members of the South Gloucestershire Over Fifties Forum for their 20th birthday celebrations in Mangotsfield today (Friday 29 November).

The forum, which has over 4500 members in South Gloucestershire, marked their 20th year with today s celebration event at the Resound Centre in Mangotsfield. As guest of honour, Cllr Boulton greeted over a hundred Forum members who were present at the event, which also featured a town crier, live musical entertainment and a celebratory birthday cake.

Cllr Boulton said: “It was a pleasure to be able to join the South Gloucestershire Over Fifties Forum for their birthday celebrations today. The Forum holds regular information days around the district with a range of guest speakers and provides an important platform for its members to have a say about the things that are important to them. These events are also a great opportunity to meet people and enjoy a social gathering. ”

The South Gloucestershire Over Fifties Forum has over 4500 Members and is a vibrant, ongoing organisation whose aim in life is to improve the lot of older people in the South Gloucestershire Area. They hold regular meetings within South Gloucestershire, with speakers on a wide range of subjects pertinent to the needs of older people.
